RJ MILFORD

Owner and Founder

 

With a background in sports and fitness, RJ specializes in individual lessons and advanced coaching techniques. He is a PGA Professional with years of experience teaching players of all skill levels and ages. He is able to assess your movement patterns, develop realistic goals, and implement a golf development plan designed to make you a more effective player.

ANDREW MINNIS
Co-Owner and Lead Golf Instructor

Andrew leads the Peak Golf Academy opportunities at Julington Creek and joins the Peak team with years of experience in golf industry. He loves the game and helping others find the confidence to enjoy golf for life. His experience operating golf facilities and managing a team of instructors helps him develop impactful program options for both juniors and adults. â€‹

LUKE GOLDBERG
Golf Coach

Luke Goldberg is a Level 1 PGA Associate with seven years of golf experience who loves helping kids learn the game of golf in a fun, encouraging environment. He currently teaches junior clinics and private lessons, focusing on fundamentals, sportsmanship, and confidence. Luke is also a proud recipient of the Creekside Knighthood Award for leadership and character. In addition, he is PGA HOPE certified, working with and teaching disabled veterans how to learn and enjoy the game of golf. Luke is committed to helping every junior golfer improve, feel confident, and love being on the course.​

MATT WINKELMANN
Teaching Professional

Matt Winkelmann is a former professional golfer and dedicated instructor who brings competitive experience at the highest amateur and professional levels to every lesson he teaches. A Wheaton, IL native, Matt played varsity golf at Wheaton North High School before earning a golf scholarship to Olivet Nazarene University, where he earned nine individual wins at the NAIA level and first discovered his passion for passing the game — and its life lessons — on to others. After graduating, he competed full-time on the Midwest Golf Tour, winning three professional tournaments, making 20 cuts, and posting a career-low round of 65. Now based in Green Cove Springs, FL with his wife Elizabeth and their two children, Matt brings that competitive knowledge and genuine love for the game into every lesson at Peak Golf Academy.​

DREW BIERSTETEL
Golf Coach

Drew is an aspiring PGA of America Professional. He' sa new coach who loves teaching beginners, young athletes and anyone looking to find more enjoyment in golf. He served 5 years in the US Navy and has experience coaching Cross Country and Track & Field. He spends his free time cooking, running, swimming, and working on his own golf game. Drew coaches junior clinics and works with adults and youth in individual lessons, ensuring everyone learns to love the game.

GERRY JAMES

Gerry James brings a rare combination of elite athletic experience and accomplished golf coaching to Peak Golf Academy. A former professional football player in the USFL, Gerry later trained under legendary wrestling coach Vern Gagne before earning the Mr. California Bodybuilding Championship — Heavyweight and Overall titles. When he turned his focus to golf at age 30, he studied under John Anselmo, the coach who shaped Tiger Woods from ages 12–16. Gerry reached scratch within 18 months and went on to earn 13 mini-tour victories, including a State Open title, competing on the Golden State Tour and beyond.


Gerry became a PGA of America member in 2003 and has since built one of the most decorated coaching résumés in the game — instructing thousands of students annually, developing 6 World Long Drive Champions, and working with a former World #1 player. His background across elite sport gives him an instinct for what separates good athletes from great ones, and he brings that same intensity and insight to every student he coaches.

RYAN GRAFF
The Putting Green GURU

Ryan Graff brings 25 years of golf industry experience spanning competition, coaching, and program development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport Psychology from the University of Illinois, where he was a four-year varsity letterwinner and team captain on the Men's Golf Team. After competing professionally on mini-tours, Ryan trained under Chuck Hogan and Debbie Crews in Phoenix, serving as Director of Golf Instruction at The Raven's Golf Learning & Performance Center.


Ryan's putting coaching uniquely combines Midwest work ethic, data-driven measurement, and mental game mastery. His expertise has been featured on Golf Channel's Morning Drive, Golf Digest, and as a keynote speaker at the PGA's Youth & Family Golf Summit.
