No matter your age, it is important to have a plan and push yourself to be your best. The first step in doing this is setting a goal.
Goals are dreams with deadlines.

When setting goals, we use the acronym SMART to guide us in creating a plan and determining metrics that will let us know if we have attained our goal or not.
Specific - What do I want to happen?
Measurable - How will I know when I have achieved my goal?
Attainable - Is the goal realistic and how will I accomplish it?
Relevant - Why is my goal important to me?
Timely - What is my deadline for this goal?
Challenging, yet attainable.
Once we have our goal outlined, and a plan on how we will accomplish it, it is crucial to check-in with yourself or others to assess progress. Reflecting on a weekly basis is ideal as this gives you an opportunity to learn from any potential setbacks and self-correct.
Try it with your kids!
Use the worksheet linked below to sit down with your kids and talk about their goals. Work through the prompts to create a plan on achieving their goal. Each week, make a plan to take 15 minutes and reflect together on their hard work how they are progressing.
